Initial post on Linux topics.
Here are some of my basic experiences and reports on my journey with Linux.
Around the age of 13, I had my first significant experiences with Linux.
Shortly after, since 2012, I’ve been running at least one Linux server online 24/7. Naturally, with appropriate security measures and related services, thanks to the available learning resources on the internet and useful contacts. I mostly use Debian or Ubuntu Server for this, currently Ubuntu.
Before that, and up until 2021, I occasionally used Linux on end devices like a laptop, gradually shifting towards using it more on the desktop as well. I also alternated between running three different versions of the Raspberry Pi, sometimes continuously, using either Raspbian or, for the Raspberry Pi 4, Ubuntu Server.
Since 2021, I’ve been using Linux as my daily driver as an end user. In my case, Manjaro Linux with the KDE desktop environment. Thanks to KDE, I don’t miss anything compared to Windows 10/11. On the contrary, KDE is very feature-rich and offers a solution or plugin for almost every issue. With the default Manjaro theme, a Windows user should feel at home quickly.
Additionally I run a a Homelab.
